I climbed a mountain I’ve been wanting to climb for years.
The date had been set for a couple of months. When the day finally came we were under sever weather alerts and it was raining with threats of a tornado.
We decided to go for it anyway.
Half-way up the mountain the tornado alarm sounded and we heard them announce that a tornado was highly possible and residence should take immediate cover. Well we were already so high up by that point there was nothing to do but look around us to see what cliff we could go under if neccessary. But then I realized as we saw the clouds start to swirl that tornados touch down, not rise, and we were probably safer than the people on the ground so we kept climbing.
The higher we got the calmer the weather was. At several points we actually saw the sun shine through the trees.. We made it to the highest point soaking wet but exhilarated. The tornado never developed and the rain cleansed us. We watched birds fly beneath us, saw rain come down the side of the cliffs in waterfalls and accomplished what we set out to do dispute obstacles that were presented (Some that never even came to fruition.
I share all this to say, what prevents you from going after a dream? What if those threats of severe weather are just that, threats. What if the storms turn out to be clean soul cleansing rains instead?
If you don’t at least make attempts you will never know. Sitting under the shelter waiting for the skies to clear will never get you anywhere.
Face the storm, play in the rain, go on the adventure, whatever it is that you want to do stop worrying about the what-ifs and just do it!
