On a whim last month, I decided it was time to stop dreaming about having my own business and decided to take the steps to actually have it. After I put in my notice mid-month I woke up constantly in panic attacks. Will I make it, can I actually start a business? Do I actually want to run my own business again and take on all the responsibility?
The answer to all of these questions were an astounding YES!
So as of July 1st, I opened the doors to Natural Effects Massage and Skin-Care. It’s nothing fancy, in fact it’s just a room inside of a building that has nothing to do with a spa or the beauty industry. And you know what? The first week was a success. I had clients every day, some days more than one. I got two new clients and they both rescheduled and I have clients on my schedule every day this week. And that’s without even marketing hard. I just received my business cards this week so now I can start marketing myself out.
I am super excited about next month with this month already starting off so well. I am so thankful that I decided to take this risk. I am not saying that everything is going to be perfect or easy. I am sure that there will be plenty of ups and downs, some really major bumps are in my future. That is normal in life. But you have to be ready for the bad as well as excited for the good.
It’s really about positive thinking. You have to believe in yourself, your ability and your outcome. It’s ok to be cautious, it’s even better to be scared, because that makes you plan and be ready for anything that comes your way. But you still need to always be moving forward. You can’t let fear stop you from going after your desires in life.
When you believe you can do something, and you want it bad enough, you will do everything in your power to do it. This is what positive thinking people do. They don’t blame others, they don’t wait on others to do it for them. You have an idea, you decide this is what you really want and then you start the process of doing what it takes to make it happen.
Your challenge this week is to pay attention to your thoughts. Are they more positive or negative? Do you sit around wishing for something you really want but feel like you can’t accomplish it? Do you believe in your dreams but your not sure what steps to take. Your thoughts are the first steps to accomplishing anything in life. You have to think about it and start planning it before you can even start putting it into action.
So what are your thoughts?
Where do they lead?
Are you planning for a future or allowing yourself to be depressed because life is passing you by? Your attitude really does determine your outcome. If your thinking is not moving you forward it’s time to change your though processes. You don’t think you can change it? You can. This is why it’s important to know and understand your way of thinking. Sometimes we are not even aware of how we think.
Start each day with gratitude and positive thoughts and no matter what else happens you will be able to start accomplish your dreams. When you find yourself thinking negative or feel like things are going bad, redirect your thoughts to something different. Even if it’s just one little thing. Have a plan of action for when things go bad. Put on music, take some deep breaths, go for a walk. Anything that allows you to get out of your head and away from the negative thinking. You really can redirect your thoughts if you take action. I wish for you a week full of positive thoughts.
Let me know in the comments some of the ways you have redirected your thoughts this week.
Have a great week and above all else Conquer On!
